CRAFT's Top Installation Tips
Artisan Wood Floors
Important details covering the installation, warranty and maintenance of a CRAFT floor are listed below. For any information not covered in our documentation, please contact your flooring professional, or feel free to contact us directly
A CRAFT floor is an investment that can last a lifetime, and longer. That is why we strongly recommend using a certified professional with plenty of experience installing engineered hardwood flooring. The conditions for installing a hardwood floor or any product can vary considerably from job site to job site, so choosing a professional installer with extensive knowledge of the environment, building codes and local construction practices is essential.
To help guarantee that the installation of your CRAFT products goes as smoothly as possible, the following documentation will come in handy:
CRAFT’s prefinished hardwood floors are extremely resilient, but just like all other hardwood floors, they are not indestructible. Wood is a natural material and can suffer irreparable damage if not handled properly and if it goes without proper care and maintenance. In particular, there are three primary considerations that need to be taken seriously for those wishing to protect their investment: cleaning, surface protection and moisture control.
All CRAFT floors and related products are covered by an extensive warranty. Residential applications are covered by our 30 Year Finish Warranty and our Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty. Light commercial applications are covered by our 3 Year Light Commercial Finish Warranty and our Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty.
Commercial applications are covered by our 10 Year Commercial Wear Warranty and our Limited Lifetime Structural Warranty. A 60 year Residential Wear Warranty applies when using Commercial Finish in residential settings.
We developed our innovative DuRa Finish™ Ultra Matte to capture the best of two worlds – that of Durability, and that of Radiance.
Often in today’s marketplace of mass produced flooring, consideration is given only to either the surface hardness of the finish (in the form of anti-scratch UV finishes), or to the wood’s appearance (oil finishes). Recent advances in wood finishing technology have made it possible for us to better achieve this goal by introducing DuRa Finish™ Ultra Matte, a new and superior finishing system that we developed with the cooperation and technical support of Treffert Coatings GmbH, one of the world’s leading wood coating manufacturers.
Our proprietary finishing system uses water-based coatings in conjunction with technically advanced UV cured polyurethanes that employ macro-molecule crosslinking technology with silicon dioxide and acylated PU resin. DuRa Finish™ Ultra Matte offers performance, consistency and vibrancy that surpasses our original finish and harmonizes perfectly with the natural feeling of wood. It is a low gloss, matte finish (6-8% gloss level, similar to a natural oil finish), yet still has a certain amount of sheen, which we feel is necessary to bring out the full lustre and depth of real wood. Our new DuRa Finish™ Ultra Matte utilizes advanced UV cured polyurethane technology that is environmentally friendly, low VOC, and carries a 30-year residential warranty.
DuRa Finish™ COMMERCIAL builds on the DuRa Finish™ ULTRA MATTE platform, with increased grammage (coating buildup) in the abrasion resistant layers of the coating stratum. DuRa Finish™ COMMERCIAL exhibits superior abrasion resistance, scratch resistance and impact resistance properties, and is therefore a suitable candidate for many commercial applications with moderately high foot traffic. DuRa Finish™ COMMERCIAL is an evolution of the original ULTRA MATTE residential finish, and it thus shares many of its aesthetic characteristics, such as a high degree of clarity and harmony with the wood’s texture, resulting in a beautiful natural looking appearance not commonly found in other commercial grade wood flooring finishes.

Grey floors had their moment — and now warm brown is back in.
After a decade of cool-toned floors dominating interiors, homeowners and designers are ready to move on. The design world is calling it "the Grey-xit."
In 2026, warm shades are taking over. Golden oak, honey pine, rich chestnut, and calm brown tones are replacing the flat, cold look that grey floors became known for.
And it makes sense.
Soft beige, natural honey, and gentle caramel tones brighten a room without washing it out. They work especially well in open-concept layouts where visual flow between rooms matters.
Grey locked you into one aesthetic. Warm wood works with everything.
This is where natural hardwood has always lived. The grain, the depth, the character that only real wood can offer.
CRAFT has been here the whole time.
