Dura Finish™ Ultra Matte

Our advanced Dura Finish™ Ultra Matte protective wood coating was developed with the same principles in mind as our approach to making wood floors in general: we convey the natural, organic beauty of real wood without interfering with the wood’s intrinsic beauty. Our vision is for the beauty of real wood to speak for itself.

DuRa Finish™ Ultra Matte is unique because it mimics the look of a natural oil finish, but with the function and performance of a durable UV cured urethane finish. For the development of this innovative wood coating, we partnered with Treffert GmbH, a leading German coating manufacturer well known for making high quality, “eco” coatings with extremely low levels of VOCs.

Through the collaboration and technical support of Treffert, we developed a proprietary finishing system that uses water-based coatings in conjunction with technically advanced UV cured polyurethanes which employ macro-molecule cross-linking technology with silicon dioxide and acylated PU resin. These advanced coatings can be applied in micro-thin layers that are thin enough to perfectly form to the subtle contours of our wood’s textured surface. The result is the DuRa Finish™ Ultra Matte finish which surpasses other UV coatings by offering performance, consistency and vibrancy, and that harmonizes perfectly with the natural feeling of real wood.

DuRa Finish™ Ultra Matte’s contribution to a healthy living environment is evidenced by the fact that all of our products have been third-party certified by Underwriters Laboratories to the level of GREENGUARD Gold, demonstrating the most stringent level of low emissions VOCs available.
