Mid-century / Modern
MODERN: Modern style references early to mid-20th-century principles: clean, sleek lines, simplicity in every element, and a restrained, often monochromatic colour palette. Materials like metal, glass, concrete, and steel reflect its industrial roots. A neutral-toned, flawless-grade wood floor offers a natural counterbalance to these crisp, structured elements. To minimize colour variation and maximize clear un-interrupted wood surfaces we recommend a CRAFT Elite Grade floor with LongCRAFT lengths such as our Arezzo, Savona, Messina, Kavala, Evora, Orissa and Andorra floors.
MID–CENTURY: Throwback to the design style of the mid-1900s—primarily the 1950s and ’60s. Retro, minimalist, and uncluttered, with sleek lines featuring both organic and geometric forms in the wood floor and throughout the space. A hallmark is the playful contrast between simple silhouettes and vibrant accent hues, capturing the era’s optimism. CRAFT recommends specifying a floor with LongCRAFT 10’ lengths mixed in with our standard lengths. Suitable CRAFT floors include a broad spectrum of colours: mid-brown Davos and Greycastle, richer Resaro, Turin, and Devonshire, or natural-toned Brevik and Valencia.
