I am a residential general contractor that builds 40-50 homes per year. My company started using Craft Artisan Wood Floors about 3 years ago and have been delighted with the product and service. Craft is a smaller company and it shows in their superior product and quality control. They source their own lumber and own the factories that manufacture the flooring so they control the process from start to finish. Their Ultra finish gives that beautiful matte finish that you would find with an oil finish but without the maintenance. They also use the fillet core which is harder to manufacture, but if done right and installed right, provides for a superior product underfoot. Craft is all wide plank and they provide more long boards in each box than any other manufacturer we’ve used. The longer and wider the product, the more scarce the quality of wood. That’s why so many manufacturers have a lot of short boards in their boxes but that makes the floor cut up and busy. I highly recommend Craft Artisan Wood Floors for any hardwood floor needs.

You can’t go wrong using CRAFT Artisan Wood Floors. It took me MONTHS to find the perfect flooring, and I did with this company. Still to this day we get compliments. We did a huge reno and truthfully, the floors from CRAFT, and our front porch are my two favourite things from the reno. Truthfully, our contractor tried to talk us out of using the hardwood as he had never used your product before but, being the stubborn person I am, I told him we’re sticking with it. Once it was laid he also agreed it looked amazing. The floors are the best part of the inside. The Greycastle White Oak is just the right amount of rustic, and a perfect brown/grey, durable and stunning. The knots and grain are like no other floor I’ve seen.

Our hardwood floors are the first thing any visitor comments on and fall in love with when entering the home and we could not be more pleased. This hardwood flooring is absolutely unique and stunning. The company was exceptional to work with and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful product. We just completed a our custom home in the Seattle, Washington. We used Oak Greycastle. They are unique, classic and timeless in our transitional styled home. Once installation began we were so happy we knew we wanted more. Our friendly, knowledgeable salesperson Brandon Merchant had the additional square footage to us the next day on the job in Washington state. Out of the year long building process this company was by far my favorite and best to work with. Thank you CRAFT!!
We love our flooring! Five years later, it still looks amazing! We began building our country home in the fall of 2011 and moved in in April 2012. When we purchased our 50 acre lot 5 km south of Peterborough there was not a house, just a very old barn. The open field needed a farm house! So we spent a great deal of time researching the style and history of the classic “Ontario Farmhouse”. We wanted the exterior to appear unassuming and as if it had been there for a long time. We love the century home exterior and the contrast of a more modern interior with our barnboard wall, cathedral ceilings, library loft, farmhouse kitchen, finished basement and large back entry. But we both agree that it’s the beautiful pine floors that pull this entire look together! We have a busy household filled with pets, grown children, extended family and friends. We love to entertain! The floors are very durable, easy to clean and maintain. We get compliments all the time!
The generous length and width of these boards visually expand our space and we have received many compliments on our beautiful choice of flooring. Professionally I have specified the CRAFT brand of flooring on past projects and my clients have always been very pleased with its great looks and exceptional performance. Personally, In 2015 we downsized from our two-storey home and purchased an older home that we could renovate from top to bottom. This extensive project lasted eight months and included a large (650 sq feet) addition, an entirely new roof truss structure, a complete exterior reface and a back to the studs gut inside the home. The result is a brand new home from top to bottom and the main floor square footage is just under 2000 sq feet. We chose quality finishes throughout and the CRAFT brand fit that profile very well.
In designing our transitional home I incorporated some contemporary and some classic elements for an interesting and energetic combination.The wide width of the Zamora Oak flooring adds an updated look and the hand sculpted, wire brushed finish provides the rusticity and practicality we were looking for. The matte finish is very easy to maintain. Our flooring looks gorgeous and feels wonderful underfoot. In a bungalow the continuity of flooring is particularly critical and we installed our hardwood flooring throughout the main floor for a seamless and unified aesthetic.
We looked at other hardwood, and always came back to CRAFT Cantabria! I (Lynn) walked into a flooring store and literally my eyes went to the Cantabria hardwood, it was exactly what I pictured! It has variations of tones, mix of warm and cooler tones so that it could go with just about anything! The wide planks, and beautiful wood grain also attracted me. We had our heart set on it for 2 years waiting for our new home to be built. We took a sample a year later when we had our meeting for our new house decor, tiles, fixtures, and cabinets and it looked amazing! We love it, the look the feel, fairly durable but have a few scratches here and there. We try to keep the right humidity. I’m glad it’s not a glossy finish because with the cat it takes enough cleaning already!
…. And then we saw the Kavala! We both fell instantly in love with it. For each selection of our reno (floor, backsplash, counter, cabinets) I think we looked at over 100 samples of each. The floor was the first we had to select. I knew I wanted light floors but we just couldn’t find the right one, even though a good friend of ours runs a large flooring company in Toronto. We went everywhere and looked at everything! It couldn’t be too yellow, or too grey, or too busy, or too plain or too “normal”. And then we saw the Kavala! We both fell instantly in love with it. When we asked the price, the funny look on the sale rep’s face indicated it was out of our requested price range. So we continued for another month, going from one end of the city to the other. Twice more we saw “our” floor and reluctantly moved on. Until….we couldn’t stand it anymore, nothing measured up after seeing the Kavala so we re-worked the budget and bought it. Not for one second have we been sorry about the decision.
Installation day was so exciting; we couldn’t wait to see it. When we just had a few boards down, I was jumping up and down with excitement because it is truly the most beautiful floor I have ever seen. The more that went down, the more we loved it. The colour is perfect, warm and yet light, with the strips of sapwood highlighting each area.
I use it in bathrooms, kitchens, high traffic areas and it holds up! I first purchased CRAFT Zamora Oak for a client in an old farmhouse with high traffic areas. I researched quite a bit. That floor has shown to be extremely durable. I like the fact that it has a satin-matte kind of finish to it, and the hand textured surface, this has helped it still look great. The wide widths and long lengths are really great. Also, being by the lake I use engineered product, and radiant floor heating for a lot of my projects so CRAFT floors are a good match. I use it in bathrooms, kitchens, high traffic areas and it holds up!
Friends who visit immediately comment on the beauty of the floors. We started looking at flooring 6 months before we took possession of the house. After seeing the CRAFT wide plank in the first month, we spent the next several months deciding which colour wood to go with. The variation of detailed darks in the knots and the richness of the colour in the walnut won us over to choosing Ferrera. The house itself is a clean canvas of white and then colour and style introduced with the contents. Art has always been a very large part of our lives, even to the point where artistic merit has influenced the choices in furniture and lighting. The interaction of all the pieces throughout our home is still a joy. Very happy with our choice… the 8″ wide plank works perfectly in the space.

After four years, three kids and a dog our floors still look fantastic. Our floors are still the favourite part of our home Reno. Our sales representative was Brandon Merchant and I can’t say enough positive things about him. He was so easy to work with and so knowledgable about the products. After much discussion and looking at all the samples we settled on the 8.5″ reclaimed heart pine saddle and we were so happy about our decision!. About three years after we installed our flooring we decided to replace the carpet on our stairs and in our children’s playroom and Brandon was so helpful in making sure the process went smoothly yet again.
