Canadian Spruce
PEFC certified STRUCTURAL GRADE SOFTWOOD
CRAFT has chosen Canadian Spruce as the material for all structural components of our engineered flooring. The advantages of Canadian Spruce are many. First and foremost, our Spruce is considered to be a highly valued renewable resource since it is harvested from responsibly managed Canadian forests where emphasis is placed on environmentally supportive forestry practices with emphasis towards a sustainable future. This makes CRAFT unique in that all CRAFT floors are made from North American wood that is third-party certified with PEFC™ certification to be legal, responsible and sustainable.
From a performance standpoint, our structural grade Canadian Spruce lumber comes from northern temperate forests, meaning that the Spruce trees grow in a cold climate characterized by a shorter growing season, resulting in wood that has a tighter ring density with stronger characteristics than other softwood species grown in warmer climates.
