Installers must clean up and fully remove any glue that comes into contact with the floor’s surface or the bevel areas before it hardens. Removal of glue that has been left on the surface after it has cured will cause irreparable damage to the floor’s finish. It is important to REMOVE ALL GLUE FROM THE SURFACE IMMEDIATELY BEFORE IT CURES.
CRAFT recommends using Bostik Ultimate and follow the recommended instructions for removal.
Alternately, Methyl Hydrate may be used; however, it is recommended to only try in a small area as a test prior to using throughout the floor. Bostik Wipes may be used only immediately as the adhesive is in contact with the surface (not cured/dried).
For any of the above recommendations, excessive rubbing of the adhesive and the finish to remove the adhesive may burnish the finish resulting in shiny spots on the floor which will only be repairable by replacing the board affected.
