Set on the Strait in Qualicum Beach, the bungalow settles into its site with a low West Coast profile. A dark, monochromatic exterior recedes into fir and cedar, while deep overhangs and carefully placed windows align every room to water, evergreens, and sky.
Designed by Studio HA/WA for a couple relocating to Vancouver Island, the ~1,900 sq. ft. plan keeps to essentials—two bedrooms, two baths, a den, and hardworking mudroom/laundry—so daily living stays easy. The brief: warm minimalism shaped by place, views treated like artwork, and a material palette rooted in the coast and local craft.
