This home of a bold and lively Tapas restaurateur and a young family did not disappoint! A fantastic and functionally designed kitchen, fun and creative accessories, and our iconic ÁVILA Hickory floor were cornerstones of the final renovated space.
Candy and Frankie’s abode celebrates liveliness, it’s comfortable inviting spaces are ideal for cooking and enjoying time with loved ones.
As this is the kitchen of a restaurant pro, a lot of hard work and love went into the planning of its functional custom details.
Main features of light and textural island/counters/backsplash surfaces and ÁVILA floor offset the sleek blue-black toned custom cabinetry. This juxtaposition sets the stage for boldness, so the artwork (and well-curated cookbooks!) really pop.
For all its statement-making good looks, ÁVILA –like every CRAFT floor is made from 100% certified-sustainable North American wood and ultra-low VOC Coatings.
The home’s art, often with Latin culture and historical reference enliven the home and makes it personal.
The comfortable living room is Spanish-inspired rustic and neutral and very inviting.
The lovely rounded fireplace and the textural wall treatment give the space depth and warmth.

The natural colour of Hickory’s heartwood starts out with challenging varied colour tones and very lively patterns.
ÁVILA starts off with our CRAFT Natural Grade of Hickory, which is graded to have a cleaner look and less colour variation.
After texturing it is then put through a multi-step colour treatment process which involves bleaching and staining in order to achieve its unique, light beige tones without changing the underlying wood’s inherent beauty.
ÁVILA’s Hickory is hand-worked using VintageCRAFT techniques to create stunning time-worn textures which feel natural underfoot.
This combined with the incredible hardness of Hickory means that this investment in an ÁVILA floor will withstand the rigors of an active household while still looking beautiful for years to come.
